Continuing its searches for modern methods of communication and contact with the public, the Natural History Museum of Lesvos Petrified Forest participates in the creation of a pioneering system of briefing for visitors of monuments, natural and cultural parks, which will function experimental the following summertime in the Petrified Forest of Lesvos.

The Work titled "Aegean Volcanic arc: new technological orientations and cultural landscapes" it focuses in the places that are related with the volcanic action in the Aegean, appreciating that they constitute exceptional examples of landscapes of natural beauty but also cultural creation. The Objective is that the visitor has in his disposal at the duration of his visit, developing him more advanced modern technology, a wealth of information and elements that concern the natural and structured environment of regions, the history but also their tradition. Thus, the system that will be developed will elect the characteristics of region in world scale, with way original and attractive. Main objects are the growth, experimental evaluation and exploitation of system of ambient information system that will allow an interactive tour of the user – visitor in the regions that are included diachronically in the Aegean Volcanic Arc. The tour concerns in the complex space (natural-geographic and informative) and will be provided information geological, geographic, historical, and cultural. This system will be the guide and assistant of each visitor, with a lot of ways, after it allows the possession of information via various channels and appliances, as: - The internet, via web browsers from any terminal. - Portable Computers (palmtops, PDAs) - Television channels, satellite or via internet.
