Adventure off road 4wd jeep trek tour explores the West part of Lesvos including:
The Petrified Forest of Lesbos, The Natural history Museum and the monastery of Pytharion. Villages we are about to visit: Vatousa, Hydira, Skala Eresos, Sigri, Messotopos and Skala Kalloni. The beaches we will swim: Skala Eresos, Sigri, Kroussos and Skala Kalloni.
Day 1
The west part tour departs Molyvos at 8:30 am to Vatousa,
a small traditional village with a small square at the entrance
where we will enjoy Greek coffee or local made refreshment. After
a while we drive a 2Km secondary road to Hidira
and taste the biological wine Methimneos. Next stop is the Monastery
of Pythariou, founded in the seventeenth century is Surrounded
by a grove of oak and sycamore trees in a dramatic gorge. Our
tour ends in Skala Eressos, Fillipos and Melanie
will welcome us to pension Krinelos where we
will stay for the night. Dinner and breakfast included.
Day 2
We leave Skala Eressos at 9:30 am heading
to the Monastery of Ypsilou for a panoramic view
of the area and then to the Petrified Forest
for a life time opportunity to view thousand years’ old
petrified trees. Then we continue driving to Sigri,
a small fishing village for swimming but also to visit the Natural
history museum where a huge collection of fossils are
exposed and we will have a small brief about Lesvos volcanic activity.
Our tour ends back to Skala Eressos from a secondary gravel coast
road with a B.B.Q. at the garden of Krinelos pension. Breakfast
and B.B.Q. included.
Day 3
We depart from Skala Eressos at 8:30 am
to Messotopos village for refreshment where the
women local cooperative will welcome us and offer
their traditional products: sweets, sauces
and spirits. 3Km north we reach Kroussos small sandy beach for a swim and lunch. Finally we drive to Skala
Kalloni where we will have some free time for coffee
by the beach and we return back to Molyvos at 20:00 pm. Lunch
is included.
