Adventure off road 4wd jeep trek tour explores the
South part of Lesvos starting from Mytilini
including:
The Roman aqueduct in Moria, a
tour to the mountains of Plomari and the area of
Kariona and the lost village
Milies. The museum of Ouzo in
Plomari, the hot springs of Polichnitos and
Lisvori, the Roman aqueduct in Lampou
mylloi and the Monastery of Agios Rafael.
Villages we are about to visit: Panagiuda, Moria, Gera bay, Milies,
Agios Isidoros, Plomari, Vatera, Polichnitos, Nifida beach, Lisvori
and Thermi. The beaches we will swim: Agios Isidoros, Vatera, Nifida
beach and Thermi.
Day 1
After a small briefing we leave Mytilini at 09:00 am heading to Moria and the Roman aqueduct, huge in size standing there for over a thousand years. We continue off the road to Karionas, a beautiful place on the mountain with a great view to Gera bay for a small refreshment and then to the lost village Millies where Kostas will be waiting us for a horse back tour. Last stop is Agios Isidoros in Southern Cross apartments situated just a few meters from the sandy beach where we will stay for the night. Break fast and dinner in Agios Isidoros included.
Day 2
3Km west we meet
Plomari the biggest village in this area famous for
its ouzo, there we will have the opportunity to visit the
museum of ouzo and see how the locals used to
distiller and produce the most popular spirit in Greece. Driving off
the road and passing through small villages hide in the mountains
(Melinda, Paleohori, Akrasi, Stavros) we reach
Vatera 12Km long sandy beach where we stay for
lunch and swim. Later on we drive to Polichnitos
and visit its natural healing hot springs and
finish our day to Nifida beach where we will enjoy
a B.B.Q. Lunch in Vatera, B.B.Q. and breakfast in Nifida
included.
Day 3
We depart at 08:30 am to Skala
Polichnitou and its salt-pan and then to
Lisvori hot spring for a healing bath. Driving to
east we take a gravel road that leads us through the pine forest to
the Roman aqueduct of Lampou Milloi and refreshment
or a Greek coffee. Next stop is the monastery of Agios
Rafael and Thermi village where we will
have time for swim, lunch and visit the thermal baths, finally we
return to Mytilini at 20:00 pm. Refreshment in Lampou Milloi and
lunch in Thermi included.
