off road 4wd jeep trek tour explores the North part of Lesvos
starting from Mytilene including:
The hot springs of Thermi and the Monastery of Agios Rafael, the pale Christian church of Halinardos, the temple of Apollo in Agia Paraskevi, the monastery of Taxiarhis and the top of Lepetymnos Mountain. The ecological path Klapados - Lafiona -Ag.Alexandros, Limonos Monastery, the temple of Messa and two Roman aqueducts, one in Lampou milloi and on in Moria. Villages we are about to visit: Thermi, Agia Paraskevi, Madamados, Sykamnia, Vafios, Molyvos, Petra, Fillia, Skala Kalloni, Moria. The beaches we will swim: Thermi, Molyvos, Petra and Skala Kalloni.
Day 1
Our tour starts from Mytilini
at 8:30 am to the hot springs of Thermi for a
healing hot bath, we continue to the monastery of Agios
Rafael a couple of Km above Thermi. Driving on a gravel
road we reach the pale Christian church of Halinardou
and the temple of Apollo in Agia Paraskevi where
we stop for refreshment. Next stop is Madamados
for the ceramic workshops and the monastery
of Taxiarhis, heading north we take a gravel road to
the top of Lepetymnos Mountain where we will
enjoy a unique view of the island and the Turkish coasts, and
then we drive to Molyvos where we stop for the
night at the School mistress with the golden eyes pension.
Day 2
After
our breakfast at Triena restaurant next to the
beach, we depart from Molyvos at 09:00 am heading to Petra
6 Km south west where Nektarios (Lesvos-adventure.gr)
will be waiting us for an adventure experience (archery,
rock climbing, and sea kayak) or just swim. Then we take
the ecological path Klapados - Lafiona -Ag.Alexandros
and we reach Fillia and the monastery of Limonos
with its Byzantine museum, continuing our tour through a gravel
road we reach again Agia Paraskevi for the Kremasti Bridge.
Our day ends in Skala Kalloni where we will pass
our night in a hotel and enjoy a B.B.Q.
Day 3
Our tour start at 09:00 am with first stop the salt pans of Kalloni, driving south for about
10 Km we reach the temple of Messa, next target
is the roman aqueduct in the pine forest near
Lampoy miloi that can be reached through an off road drive for
about 15 Km. Then we continue to the hot springs of the
Gulf of Gera in Therma for a healing bath combined with
a relaxing massage from a professional. Our last stop is the roman
aqueduct in Moria and then back to Mytilini at 20:00
pm.
