Lesvos space was shaped in the past by repeated geological realignments and by the intense volcanic activity of region, at the tertiary and quadrant period. Indicative result of this upset geological past, is the fossilization of the big forest in the western side of island, while in the centre, the gulf of Kalloni and the gulf of Gera, they testify incidents of titanic digs. The existence of big number of caverns and the many natural hot springs are clues of recent geological capacity. The waters of Lesvos hot springs are gushing from big depths bringing to us the healing attributes of rocks that they run through.

Thermal baths of Mitilini
 The healing baths of Municipality Mitilini
are found in distance of 6 Km, in a coastal region in the
gulf of Gera. They function all providing
their healing attributes in combination with a relaxing massage
from a specialised masseur. The baths are manufactured the
season of Turkish possession with Oriental architecture, maintain
in their internal space the characteristics and atmosphere
of old seasons. Are separated in two comfortable common baths
with limpid chloride waters and temperature at 39,5 C, also
allocate lockers room and shower. The group also facilitate
a refreshment stand, restaurant as well as Tennis court.

hot springs
 Here
as it testifies the found of a sign, was the temple of the
goddess Artemis. The adoration was combined
with the spring’s therapeutic attributes, and the installations

it changed Thermi
in a modern, for those times, SPA. Centre
with international fame. The ancient vaulted reservoirs that
can be found behind the current healing baths distinguishing
the diachronic history of space. The healing attributes of
the source, in combination with the exceptional natural surrounding
and most excellent climate render Thermi
as an ideal resort for meditation and SPA.. The source is
characterized ferrous salty and the temperature of water reaches
49 C. There are 10 individual baths and the building can be
found in the settlement of Thermi beach, 11 Km from Mitilini. |

Hot
springs of Lisvori
 The
source can be reached 3Km outside Lisvori,
next to a small chapel of Saint Ioannis built
in the foot of a hill surrounded with olive trees. It is constituted
by two separate buildings with baths of capacity of 6 persons
and with shaped spaces for sauna. The sources waters are ferrous
with colour yellow and temperature that reaches upon 68C,
considers one of the hottest sources in Greece.
Opposite from the thermal baths there is a small pension with
9 rooms for those that wish to remain near in the healing
sources and enjoy the real nature of Lesvos. |

Thermal
baths of Polihnitos
 The
detour to the thermal bath establishment is on the road leading
from Polichnitos
Lesvos to Vatera.
Spa waters spout from numerous springs passing through primary
and secondary volcanic porous rock. Water temperatures range
between 67°C and 92°C (bath temperatures range between 42°C
and 44°C) in baths enriched with natural radon irradiation
in the range of 15 - 25 MACHE units and is considered to be
of the warmest springs in Europe. They are rich in sodium
chloride and comparable to the Wiesbaden springs in Germany.
The baths and pools are housed in a series of low constructions
on the right, built under tall eucalyptus trees. These are
the old buildings, which have been operating for numerous
years that were renovated to fit modern needs and include
both old and new water channels. The water springs free and
steaming hot, and as a result of thermopile animalcules (algae)
growing in it, on its way down gives the floor a beautiful
red color.

Eftalou Molyvos hot springs
 It is a coastal region 4 Km East of Molyvos, there litteraly in the waves can be found the healing radiogenic source with temperature of water up to 46C. Built with vaulted roof has one common bath for 10 persons, next there is a two-storied building with 6 individual baths while in the first floor facilitates three rooms for rent.
